The Form of Breath — Concept & Research

Project-type

Artistic Research / contemporary art

Duration

2020 - ongoing

Focus

Art as embodied movement

Approach

Regulation, health, and embodied spirituality through movement

The Form of Breath is an artistic research project grounded in martial arts–based movement practices, where attention, posture, breath, and gesture are cultivated over time as a disciplined bodily language. The project originates from sustained training and lived practice, understanding movement not as performance, but as a form of embodied inquiry and regulation.

At its core, the research explores how attentive movement becomes gesture, and how gesture unfolds into artistic form. The body is approached as a site of knowledge and integration, where regulation, health, and embodied spirituality are not abstract ideas, but lived processes developed through practice. Movement functions as a regenerative discipline, supporting presence, perception, and coherence between body, mind, and environment.

From this embodied practice, concrete artistic works emerge. Installations, visual compositions, moving images, and experiential formats are developed as direct expressions of the research process. Art is not used to illustrate movement, but arises from it—transforming bodily attention into material, spatial, and visual language. The project positions artistic creation as an extension of disciplined movement and attentive presence, bridging art, health, and embodied spiritual experience.
